I’m fairly certain I’m breaking rule number one in blogging: not blogging on a regular basis. I honestly don’t know how people keep up when “life” gets chaotic. I guess it’s all about priorities, maybe?
Anywho, I’m WAY EXCITED about moving this Friday. We close at 9am on the new house, and we plan on loading up the Yukon with all our dirty laundry and heading right on over to start a load. I think I’m going to appreciate my washer and dryer so much now that I had to go a month trekking to the laundromat every weekend. What a chore! A few times I would see a mom with a little baby lugging in loads of clothes and spending an entire morning taking care of laundry. It certainly made me thankful that our “burden” was short lived.

Second thing I'm most excited about in the new house (right under washer and dryer) is the lovely and large kitchen.
Another thing to celebrate: the annual fundraiser for our local emergency shelter was a huge success last week. We reached our goal and raised $25,000 for the shelter through a live and silent auction of purses (yes, purses!). It was amazing to see our committee band together and create something so spectacular out of nothing. It takes an amazing amount of work to pull off, but having the day go without a hitch was wonderful, and to hear we raised such a large amount was awesome as well.
The blessings we have in our life are numerous and wonderful. And I’m realizing that the trials of life help me appreciate those even more…in fact I’m going to enjoy hearing nothing but the sound of my washer and dryer very, very soon. Ah, the small things!
